To get a DV SSL certificate, you have to prove that you are the owner of the domain using any of the following validation methodologies-
  • 01. Preferred Domain Control Validation Method

    Email based authentication wherein we will be sending an authentication mail to WHOIS registrar email address is the most preferred validation methodology.

    Alternatively, we can also send authentication email to one of five pre-approved email addresses associated with the website domain, which includes:

  • 02. Alternate Domain Control Validation Methods

    CAA Email Contact, DNS TXT Record, DNS TXT Record Email Contact and File based authentication are the alternate methods of Domain Control Validation that you can opt for in case there is an issue with email based authentication.

    • CAA Email Contact Based Authentication - you are required to create DNS CAA Record and enter the domain's email address as part of 'contactemail' property tag. This will then be verified by us by sending verification code to the DNS CAA contact email address.

    • DNS TXT Record Based Authentication - you are required to create a new DNS TXT record and enter the target address value provided by us. This will then be verified by us by checking DNS TXT Record.

    • DNS TXT Record Email Contact Based Authentication - you are required to create a new DNS TXT Record and enter the domain's email address as part of following subdomain of your domain '_validation-contactemail'. This will then be verified by us by sending verification code to the DNS TXT contact email address.

    • File-Based Authentication - you are required to upload a text file provided by us in the root directory of your website. This will then be verified by us via HTTP or HTTPS.
